Nickolay Samoylenko is a full-time professional artist from Ukraine. He was born 12th of October, 1961 in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. He received art education at the Art School of Chernivtsi in 1975-1978 and at the Artistic Studio of Simon Okstein in 1978-1982, followed by an internship at the Mars Gallery in Moscow in 1983-1984.

His paintings have been exhibited there until recently. Nickolay participated in many exhibitions in Chernivtsi and Kyiv (Ukraine) and Moscow (Russia). His works are also in many private collections in Ukraine, Israel, Germany, USA and Canada.

The uniqueness of the artist's style is in his use of inner properties of colors. Color lives its own life, passing through the stages of intensity and abundance, joy and rapture, wonder and sadness. Nicolai likes to represent the same plot in different colors, thus revealing different aspects of the characters and objects in his paintings.
